Document: Mass on TV and Radio

Received from Gene a member of the Clogher Diocesan Committee
Re Daily Mass being broadcast in Ireland via TV Radio, Internet etc.

The unprecedented fall out from the Corona Virus pandemic is undoubtedly going to limit many Catholic’s ability to attend or participate in Holy Mass or to visit the Most Blessed Sacrament – with many people who are sick or housebound advised to stay at home. While there are webcam and local radio links available in some parishes,

I consider it an appropriate time to put notices into parish bulletins and social media groups alerting priests and their parishioners to a number of Catholic media outlets who broadcast  Daily Mass, Rosary, Divine Mercy and other programmes via tv, internet and radio.

  1. Radio Maria is under the Dublin Archdiocese and Fr Eamon Mc Carthy is their full time director. They broadcast to all of Ireland from a building 100 metres behind the Red Cow Hotel on the Naas Rd and have an Oratory there which anyone is welcome to visit at anytime. Currently 40 days and nights of Perpetual Adoration taking place there. Adorers welcome 24/7 ! While they are only an internet radio station, they broadcast audio via a channel on most smart tv’s (check out your station guide) and on internet and anyone with a smart phone can download their free app ‘Radio Maria Ireland’
